ISM Internship

The Illinois Student Ministries Internship Program exists to expose college students to different ministries and ministerial capacities at the district level. It will provide the opportunity to work closely with the ISM office staff and our Illinois Assemblies of God youth and children's pastors.

In order to be considered for the ISM Internship, applicants must have completed at least 1 year of college by the end of the 2024 spring semester. The Internship move in date will be May 8, 2024, with the program running through July 26th, 2024. Once accepted into the program, please contact the ISM office if you need to arrive at another time other than the designated move-in date.

The ISM Internship is a highly administrative position which will enable students to participate in the behind-the-scenes aspects of district level ministry, especially in youth and children’s camps. Students should show a proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new computer programs (i.e. the District Camp Software). Students should possess basic inter-personal skills and demonstrate professional telephone etiquette.

Some of the tasks students will be participating in over the summer include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Assisting with administrative and creative aspects of Illinois district youth and children’s camps.
  • Assisting with other district-wide events when applicable.
  • Learning new programs (i.e. the District Camp Software)
  • Utilizing and demonstrating professional telephone & email etiquette to effectively communicate with parents, youth & children's pastors, etc.

Students applying to be an ISM Intern are required to complete an internship application along with a one page essay answering the following questions:

  • Which area of ministry do you feel the Lord leading you to?
  • What interests you about this internship?
  • What do you feel you can contribute to ISM?
  • What do you expect this internship to do for/in you?

Should your application progress, an interview will be scheduled with the District Student Ministries Director, Pastor Chris Stanley. All intern applicants must have a completed pastoral reference on file to be considered. If you have been accepted into the internship program, you will be subject to a National Background Check. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance no later than April 8th of the internship year.

Applications must be submitted by March 22, 2024 to be considered. More information can be obtained by contacting our offices at 217.854.4641 or via email at ilsmonline@idcag.org.
